Transmission Lines

Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) studies are used to analyse fast electrical phenomena in transmission networks, such as switching events, faults, lightning surges, and equipment energisation. These detailed time-domain simulations accurately capture transient overvoltages, current surges, and system interactions that cannot be represented by conventional RMS studies.

EMT studies support the design and operation of transmission systems by assessing insulation coordination, switching overvoltages, protection performance, auto-reclosing schemes, and the integration of renewable and power-electronic-based generation. They help ensure network reliability, equipment security, and compliance with industry standards.

SPAR

Single-Pole Auto-Reclosing (SPAR) studies are performed to evaluate the successful reclosing of transmission lines following single-phase faults.
